Albert II

MC wanted to dedicate its first edition, which is a limited edition, to the accession of the Throne of H.S.H. Prince Albert II.

Having resolved to make Monegasque culture an influential force throughout the world, I believe the first message to propagate in foreign countries is what the Accession to the Throne, the Enthronement and the National Day express about Monegasque civilization.

Thanks to its Lords and Princes' wisdom, Monaco asserted and defended its identity. The seven centuries of Grimaldi's history draw their roots from the Middle Ages and give evidence of the magnitude and depth of a tradition.

The letterpress printing is inspired by the Constitution of the Principality of Monaco, drafted by Prince Louis I in the XVIIth century, and this choice is due to our will to respect cultural continuity.

The medieval colours of silver and muzzles of the Dynasty's arms translated today into the red and white national colours, inspired the cover.

The images chosen to illustrate this event have been coupled with my text, which is an expression of admiration and trust towards the new Sovereign.

The guidelines of His reign reflect His will to make Monaco, in a certain way, a superpower of civilization and culture. The promises made by His Serene Highness in His speech to the Monegasques encouraged us in the development of our publishing program.
